Nature and ScopeWe are searching for confident and experienced substitute teachers to join our team in the Elementary, Middle School and High School grades. We are looking for competent professionals with a background and an interest in education. The Substitute Teacher(s) should have in-depth knowledge of effective teaching practices that ensure learning is a comfortable and meaningful experience for all students across different grades. We are looking for professional candidates who have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with a strong command of the English language. Undertake any tasks as reasonably required by the respective Principal(s) Teaching and Learning Demonstrate consistently outstanding teaching skills, managing students and maintaining high standards of behavior and creating a calm, purposeful learning environmentTake initiative in becoming familiar with all aspects of the curriculum in the respective substitute are of Elementary, Middle and High School that may differ from previous experience or training Take responsibility for all administrative tasks associated with the role of Substitute teacher Work with Elementary, Middle or High School teams in the development and delivery of a creative and stimulating curriculum Work with the Elementary, Middle or High School teams in the development and maintenance of a stimulating teaching environment that ensures optimum use of time, space and facilities Work with the respective teams to ensure that the requirements of the curriculum are met, including arrangements for assessment and moderation Be an active member of team meetings and take a role in developing and implementing policies, initiatives, discussing samples of work, assessment and record keeping, moderation, etc. Communication Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with colleagues, parents, leaders, the local community and where appropriate the Board of DirectorsAttend and contribute to appropriate divisional meetingsEnsure parents are well informed about the sectional curriculum (Elementary, Middle School and High School), attainment and progress and are fully engaged as partners in their child’s learning. Professional Development Participate with faculty and administration in professional development and in-service activitiesParticipate in Performance Management activities as assigned by the respective supervisorRemain abreast of current developments in technology, learning and administrative theory through active collaboration with other professionals, attending appropriate workshops and conferences, and through reading of professional journals Professional Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in EducationCertificate in teaching or substitute teaching Minimum of two (2) years experience as a classroom teacher Passionate about connecting with teachers and studentsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
