Job Summary: The social worker will offer technicalsupport, monitor and evaluate provision of psychosocial support for HIVinfected and affected children in accordance with national HIV/AIDS policies andstandards. S/He will be expected to work closely with the EGPAF technical team,BP members to ensure smooth implementation of the project. Key Duties and Responsibilities: · S/Hewill participate in the provision of technical support to Improve identification,treatment initiation, retention and viral suppression of children andadolescents living with or exposed to HIV· New& optimized programming necessary to cover the retention gap for adolescentgirls who are pregnant and lactating including retention in PMTCT/HIV Care withan aim of covering drop off along the PMTCT cascade (only 60-70% of infantsreached within first 2 months if life).· Thesuccessful candidate will be working closely with the EGPAF technical team tobuild capacity of service providers and partners targeting 95-95-95.· Continuouslyexamine emerging programming gaps due to the shifting landscape so as to remainresponsive to the needs of the national program.· Promotethe documentation of best practices and lessons learned that can be shared atsubnational, national and international fora· Writeprogress reports on pediatric HIV care to be shared with stakeholder· Performother duties to support the program as assigned Qualifications, Skills and Experience:· Theideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in counseling from a recognizedinstitution. Further training in HIV program is of added advantage · At leastthree years’ experience in planning and implementing Pediatric HIV/AIDSprevention, care and case management.· Experienceworking/collaborating with Ministries of Health and other Implementing Partnerson the implementation of technically sound public health programmes, includingHIV, prevention, care and treatment interventions· Practicalexperience in working with health systems at the district level· Soundunderstanding of current issues and developments in the field of HIV/AIDS andespecially PMTCT, ART and Pediatric care and treatment.· Priorexperience coordinating HIV & AIDS quality improvement initiatives is anadded advantage· Abilityto work in a team (good team player)· Excellenttraining and mentorship/coaching skills and experience in coordinating largescale capacity building initiatives.· In-depthknowledge in health care operations research and formulating project proposals· Stronginterpersonal, oral and written communication skills including the developmentof reports
