Job Description To support regulation and monitoring of safety of oil and gas equipment and facilities. He/she reports to the Senior Safety Officer.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Conduct inspections and audits of oil and gas equipment and facilities and advise on compliance to applicable safety laws, regulations, standards, and international best practice.• Participate in review of risk assessment reports and related technical documents.• Advise on integration of safety concepts during planning, design and execution of oil and gas activities.• Participate in response to emergency situations and incidents.• Support the development and review of policies, laws, regulations, standards, strategies, guidelines and plans for regulating technical & operational safety in the oil and gas sector.• Contribute to the development, monitoring and analysis of Safety Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the oil and gas sector.• Perform any other duty assigned by the supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE Basic Qualifications• An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline from an internationally recognized institution.Experience• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant working experience.Added Advantage• Professional certification in safety management.• Knowledge of the application of Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Inherent Safe Design (ISD) and Loss Prevention principles.Skills and Competencies• Risk Management.t• Audit planning and implementation.• Analytical skills.• Innovative.• High level of integrity.• Communication and report writing skills.• Interpersonal skills.
