In this role, Utility Person I will be responsible for performing general cleaning duties including storage areas, office areas, stairways, locker rooms, lunchroom, bathrooms, plant laboratory, instrument shops, soundproof booths, control room, and other areas of the plant as directed. Assist uniform vendor in the distribution of uniforms, shop towels, and runners as well as maintain exterior walks and driveways. This position is located at our Longwood Medical Energy Complex in Boston, MA. and reports to the Maintenance Manager. The safety of our employees is our number one priority. What you’ll do: Perform cleaning of plant office, storage areas, locker rooms, stairways, satellite facilities, and other areas as required Collect and dispose of all plant rubbish Clean and dust furniture and fixtures, wash walls and windows in plant and office areas Assist uniform vendor in the collection and distribution of uniforms, wipers, and runners Maintain the plant’s exterior and walks, including grounds keeping, window cleaning, trash collection and removal, sweeping of walks and passageways, and snow removal from walkways and driveways Must participate in emergency response team Must observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and company standards and, where applicable, local, state, and federal laws Must participate in mandatory training, and other programs Perform other related duties as required What you bring: High School Diploma required Three years of applicable experience in an industrial facility Commonwealth of Massachusetts 2nd Class Fireman’s License preferred General knowledge of power generation, power generation equipment and technology preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Maximo CMMS programs Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and take direction from others May be required to work overtime - relief, off-shift, and emergency coverage (nights, weekends, etc.) and/or other, as needed Additional Information/Conditions: Must be eligible to work for any U.S. employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies Must be able to work internally in the physical plant and externally on the facility’s grounds or at satellite facilities Ability to meet highest attendance requirements The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate Ability to meet highest attendance requirements Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy Ability to use a company computer, calculator While performing the duties of this job Regularly required to use hands and arms to touch or feel and use tools Frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, or crouch Occasionally required to climb or balance Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration Frequently exposed to airborne particles, and heat Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; and outside weather condition Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Why ENGIE?
