Job Description Overall purpose of the job. • To carry outfitting tasks on new and existing center pivot installations to ensure high equipment availability and adequate water supply for irrigation of sugarcane in assigned areas.Key Responsibilities • Fit components on new center pivot installations as guided by supervisors.• Carry out maintenance or repair of center pivots and accessories as guided by supervisors.• Maintain daily records of maintenance activities.• Enforce the safety, health and environment policies of the company.• Ensure pre-task risk assessments and permits are done for all major works before execution• Perform any other duties as maybe assigned by the Pivot Maintenance Supervisor /Management.Knowledge, qualifications & Experience Education:• Diploma in mechanical engineering, Diploma/ certificate in Mechatronics, and/or A Craft Certificate in mechanical engineering/technology from a recognized Institution.Experience, Skills and Competences: • A minimum of two(2) years in mechanical fitting works or similar job. Knowledge in mechanical fitting and usage of different tools. Good task allocation and supervisory skills, good record keeping. Communication Skills: The position demands constant interactions, and excellent communication skills in order to pass down instructions. Ms Office: A candidate for this position must be proficient in the use of Ms Word, Ms Excel, and PowerPoint, Analytical Skills: A candidate for this position must be capable of gathering and interpreting raw information and data, documenting findings, and drawing appropriate recommendations. Interpersonal Skills: The candidate must be a helpful, calm and professional individual, have strong time management skills.
