Position: Fleet Manager
Location : Uganda Kampala
Industry: Logistics / Transport / FMCG / Construction / NGO / Corporate Operations
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
10-15+ years of experience in fleet or transport operations
Handson experience managing medium to large fleets
Professional certifications in fleet management or logistics (added advantage)
Strong understanding of East African road networks and local operating environments
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations of the fleet, ensuring availability, reliability, and optimal utilization of vehicles and equipment.
Develop and implement costeffective maintenance strategies, including preventive maintenance schedules and repair protocols.
Monitor fuel consumption, driver behavior, and routes using fleet management systems (GPS tracking & telematics).
Ensure compliance with Ugandan transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Lead and supervise drivers, mechanics, and operational staff while maintaining high performance and discipline.
Oversee vehicle registration, insurance, licensing, and renewal processes.
Prepare fleet reports, budgets, and performance reviews for management.
Coordinate procurement of new vehicles, spare parts, and service contracts.
Manage breakdowns, accidents, and emergency response procedures effectively.
Implement continuous improvement measures to reduce operational costs and optimize fleet usage.

Solid understanding of vehicle maintenance and workshop management
