Job Title:Organization: RTIInternationalDuty Station: Kampala,Uganda About US:RTI International isa nonprofit organization headquartered in the Research Triangle Park in NorthCarolina. RTI provides research and technical services. It was founded in 1958with $500,000 in funding from local businesses and the three North Carolinauniversities that form the Research Triangle. Job Summary: The Finance and Administration Officer will beresponsible for supporting financial, administration, logistics and procurementactivities for the program implementation. S/he will support the program toachieve it goals in a manner constant with financial principles and maintainfunctions such as general accounting, financial tasks, and accounting records.S/he will collaborate closely with the human resources, procurement, logistics,and finance management to provide support and assistance as needed. S/he willcoordinate office space for visiting RTI staff/consultants. S/he will be incharge of general office correspondence and perform other administrative dutiesas needed. RTI Internationalseeks to recruit a candidate for the position of Finance & AdministrationOfficer position to be based in Uganda. This position will work closely withthe Directors of Finance as well as Operations and Contracts. Qualifications, Skills and Experience:·Theideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting withformal training in administration such as diploma; or degree in administrationwith professional training in finance or accounting.·Minimumof 4 years work experience (2 years’ experience in finance or accountingtogether with 2 years’ experience in administration/ logistics or procurement).·Experienceworking on USAID contracts highly recommended; Or working for an internationalorganization.·Proficiencyin MS Word, Outlook, Excel.·Excellentknowledge of QuickBooks and ability to multi-task.·ExcellentEnglish language proficiency required – both reading, writing, and speaking.·Stronglistening, oral and written communication skills and client management skills.The ability to communicate at multiple levels in the organization; and theability to coordinate activities with officials from host country government,NGO’s and other agencies.·Abilityto build effective relationships with all clients, peers, and stakeholders.·Abilityto work hands-on, independently, and with the team.·Strongorganizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-orientedsetting.·Excellentcomputer skills: Word, Excel and PowerPoint and presentation skills.
