Purpose/MissionAs part of the Finance Department, the Energy Access Grant Advisor coordinates and leads the grant fundraising activities across the EEA markets under the supervision of the Head of Energy Access Grant Funding. Its purpose is to identify and secure the financial resources needed to accelerate and increase the scale of our operations. As such, this role entails establishing working relationships with existing and potential funders, policymakers and other external stakeholders while working closely with the rest of the EEA Finance team, the Country teams as well as significant cross-collaboration with other EEA teams. The Energy Access Grant Advisor develops competitive funding proposals, manages the entire end-to-end fundraising and development process and identifies new grant opportunities to drive growth within new and existing markets to establish EEA as the market leader within the industry.ResponsibilitiesSupports together with a colleague the definition and implementation of EEA’s grant fundraising strategy based on the needs of the business.Establishes and cultivates working relationships with existing and potential funders, policymakers, and industry relationshipsPromote EEA’s interests by influencing the design of grant programs, contributing as such to EEA’s reputation as a credible and reliable thought-partner in the industryEnsure the prompt identification of grant opportunities of interest for the development of our businessIn collaboration with EEA Teams, create competitive proposals to secure grant funding.In collaboration with EEA Teams, manage the grant pipeline, the overall grant reporting and monitoring process to donors as well as additional donor-requestsDevelop and maintain grants database, including tracking tender release dates, application close dates, and other key informationKnowledge And SkillsExperience:Previous experience working in a national development agency, international development organization and/or on grant fundraising projectsKnowledge of the African donor landscape and fundraising processesExperience on energy-related topics, with off-grid solutions being a plusProven track record of writing & closing meaningful grant & concessionary funding opportunitiesDemonstrated experience in Project Management, coordinating multiple deliverables across different departments to meet deadlinesDemonstrated experience in writing quality and succinct reports to various stakeholdersSpecific CompetencesProfessional level command of written and spoken EnglishStrong IT skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
