Position Overview Educate!, an award-winning non-profit social enterprise, is seeking a Finance Coordinator to work in our finance department in Uganda.
You will be part of the finance team at Educate!.
You will be responsible for cash flow planning to ensure sufficient funds in-country at all times.
You will also be responsible for all disbursements on all the various payment platforms in use from time to time managing relationships with key stakeholders.
Finally, ensuring timely filing and payment of taxes and other statutory obligations as well as leading collaborative efforts between Finance and the rest of the organization.
You will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure timely preparation of monthly financials and BVAs.
You will also collaborate closely with product teams and field staff to optimize finance systems and processes.
You will report to the Finance Manager.

Performance Objectives Disbursements - 50% Timely processing of all payments.
Advising staff on proper procedures for the various types of payments.
Liaising with banks, aggregators and digital payment platforms to ensure smooth payment processing.
Liaising with procurement and product teams to ensure set payment days are adhered to.
Following up with approvers and bank signatories.
Compliance with Statutory Requirements - 20% Filing of taxes & NSSF by the 27th of every month.
Timely filing of LST.
URA Ledger review to ensure nill ledger balances at all times Cash Flow Planning & Forecasting – 20% Sourcing and preparation of cash projections from all departments.
Preparation of cash requests from the US office.
Exchange rate negotiations with bank treasury teams.
Trainings - 10% Training staff on finance procedures and processes.
Orientation of new staff.
Do feedback sessions on finance for both field and office staff.
Qualifications Dynamic experience highly preferred, with demonstrated ability to operate well in complex and fast-changing environments 4+ years of work experience, with 2+ years of experience in finance and accounting, financial analysis.
Financial integrity and budget management experience.
Solid experience in finance and accounting, financial analysis.
Passion for Educate!’s mission is a must, but past work in education or youth development is not required.
