Job summary
The Crawler Excavator Operator is responsible for operating track-mounted excavators to perform excavation, grading, loading, and material handling activities safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities. Operate crawler excavators to dig, excavate, grade, and move earth and materials.
Clear construction sites by removing rocks, debris, and vegetation.
Load materials such as soil, sand, and gravel into trucks.
Perform daily equipment inspections, including hydraulic systems and track conditions.
Install and remove equipment attachments such as buckets and hydraulic breakers.
Ensure compliance with project safety procedures and environmental regulations.
Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and ground crews to ensure tasks are completed according to specifications.
Qualifications, experience, and skills Valid Uganda Driver’s License – Class F for engineering and construction machinery.
Heavy Equipment Operator Certification from a recognized training institution.
Construction Safety / HSE Training Certification.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience operating crawler excavators on construction projects.
Ability to perform daily equipment inspection and preventive maintenance checks.
Knowledge of excavation techniques, site preparation, and material handling operations.
Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
