JOB PURPOSE To provide research and specialised communications services that support the creation of content aimed at influencing key policies, maintaining and enhancing WFPs visibility and reputation, and supporting fundraising activities. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (1/2) Produce content for social media channels including engaging text, photos and videos content for use across a range of integrated platforms.

Develop, package and disseminate multimedia success stories highlighting donors support in Uganda.

This will involve the production of social media assets to be disseminated in WFP Uganda, Regional and Global Offices Channels.

Design and implement specific thematic communication campaigns to generate greater awareness around key issues related to WFPs mandate.

Facilitate public events in a timely manner for WFPs major events such as international days.

Travel regularly (or liaise with field colleagues and contractors) to support multimedia production and donors recognition of WFPs activities.

Produce and review fact sheets and operational briefs.

Any other duties as determined by supervisor.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication, Marketing, or in a related academic field from a recognized Academic Institution.

Language: Fluency (level C) in the English language.

Media and Communication Expertise Collates accurate and timely information presented in required format (i.e.

written or visual materials) as well as verbally, to enable information flows and informed decision making on communications issues.

Specialised Knowledge in Communications Exhibits specalised technical knowledge of communications channels processes, tools and techniques.

In immediate area of responsibility, provides support in developing written, visual, audio and multi-media content for communications materials and suggestions for improved communications processes.

Sociopolitical Contextual Understanding Shows awareness of the multilateral/interagency environment and the dynamics in which WFP operates which informs approach to daily tasks.

Communication Strategy and Planning Demonstrates sound understanding of WFP communications strategy and effectively implements tailored media and communications plans which support the delivery of the strategy.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE At least six years of professional work experience in a relevant role Has demonstrated a sound understanding of WFP communication techniques and activities, as well as awareness of the socio-political context in which WFP operates.

Has demonstrated sound understanding of traditional and new media terrain and understands how to utilize opportunities to improve WFPs reputation and visibility.

Has demonstrated excellent understanding of key policies necessary for reaching Zero Hunger and insight into how to produce powerful content and carry out impactful campaigns in support of the same.

Has experience running social media for an international organization.

Has experience providing training and mentorship for staff in communication skills and the agility to adapt style according to the teams training needs.

Has experience producing multimedia content for humanitarian and/or international development campaigns and knowledge of the latest and most effective design, photo and video editing software.
