DescriptionJob Description: AccountantLocation: Kasese, Uganda (with frequent travel within Western Uganda)Term: 2 Years (incl. 6-month probationary period)Start Date: ImmediateJob DescriptionThe Accountant will report directly to the Finance Officer in Kampala and serve as the coordinator of accounts for the Kampala chocolate business. This includes the following responsibilities:Supervise Accounts Assistants and cashiers responsible for sourcing operations with a specific focus on:Petty cash reporting and budgetsVerification of accountability for cash and mobile money expensesSubmission and confirmation of inventory reportsBalancing of buyers and pre-finance for sourcingVerification of stocks and dispatchesCoordinate documentation and payment for all supplies and materialsReview and confirm monthly report submissions for the officeVerify and approve sourcing purchase data entry through the traceability programSupport the implementation of digital farmer paymentsEnsure local tax complianceManage expenses and cost control for each branchVerify asset and inventory reports at each branchCarry out audits and site visits to confirm inventory and accountabilityRequired ExperienceFluent English3-5 years of experience in the accounts department for a Ugandan-registered company or entityDegree in relevant Account or Finance field, progress completed towards CPA or ACCAAdvanced knowledge of MS Office and QuickBooksPositive attitude, attention to detail, and good communication skillsRemuneration & BenefitsMonthly salary commensurate with experience.
